Here we go again

So Gerrard has backed Lampard to regain his form, Gilberto SIlva has also backed Lampard and next up I think my Labrador might come out and back him, just in case no one was getting the point that Lampard hasn't hit form for England since....forever! I feel that the age-old debate of "can Gerrard and Lampard play in the centre together?" has now turned into the "does Lampard deserve to be in the centre at all?" debate, and the answer to this has got to be a resounding NO. As much as he has played well for Chelsea, I just don't think that he is international standard, he seems to become very average as soon as he doesn't have the quality of Chelsea's midfield around him and I’m afraid that I’d definitely have Carrick and Hargreaves over him....though I'm not sure why I’m afraid because I'm pretty sure that he will ever read this....better safe then sorry.

Don't get me wrong, he's a very good player but he's had his chance to stamp his mark on England and has failed to produce, he may play brilliantly against Estonia but that won't prove anything and it's time to give Carrick a chance to show what he's got, on the back of a brilliant season for United, before Hargreaves comes back from injury.
