England Investigated

Not a huge amount going on in the Footballing world today with only a few bits of interest. The FA have lodged a complaint over the racism in the U21 game last night, which is definitely the right move, but Huddlestone has been suspended for 2 games after his sending off, which means he'll miss the sem-final and the final of the tournament. Very silly sending off, he was only on the pitch for 3 minutes, and the kid should've known better, he's got a lot of talent and hopefully he'll learn from this. The English players are also under investigation for the eveents after the final whistle, when both sets of playes were in the tunnel. I hope that UEFA take into account the context of their actions, I'm not excusing whatever they did, but they had been through a game where their teammates had been racially abused by the Serbian fans and had to put up with the Serbian players becoming more and more agitated and aggressive. They're only young players and it's not suprising that the situation boiled over, I just hope that UEFA shows some common sense for once, and takes this into account when handing out punishments.

Francesco Totti has won the European Golden Boot award, I'm a fan of his footballing skills, though some of his conduct has been pretty bad, so congatulations to the fella. He may be back playing for Italy soon, which is great news for them as their European qualifying campaign hasn't been great so far.

Halfway through the Sheffield United hearing, with Liverpool's Chief Executive Rick Parry being called as a suprise witness for Sheffield United. McCabe of Sheffield United remains confident but we shall see. The hearing ends tomorrow.

Finally a few transfer rumours to keep you going, Milan have insisted that Eto'o remains their number one target for the summer. I feel sorry for him, he came out with a clear statement on staying at Barcelona, yet other clubs still try and unsettle him, in this case I'm not sure he'll be leaving unless Barcelona receive a huge transfer fee. Another Spanish club, Real Madrid, have apparently confirmed their interest in Tevez, though his agent tells us that he could still stay at West Ham. I very much doubt that he'll be staying and it seems like he'll be heading to either Inter or Real this summer, which'll be a big loss for the Premiership but in the interests of Tevez.

Here's hoping that things pick up soon, Night.
